Details: MV Wilhelm Gustloff was a German cruise ship constructed for the National Socialist's Kraft durch Freude organisation in 1937. In 1939 and 1940 she was requisitioned by the German navy and served as a hospital ship before being assigned as a floating barracks for naval personnel. She was sunk by Soviet submarine S-13 in the Baltic Sea while evacuating German civilians, German officials and military personnel. 9,400 people died, which makes it the largest loss of life in a single ship sinking in history. Model is mounted on a plinth and presented in box packaging
