After the outbreak of the First World War, 900 of the buses were called upon for support in the war effort and they were used for the transportation of troops having been repainted in camouflage colour khaki. 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the beginning of World War One. To commemorate the technological developments of military machinery, Corgi presents the World War One Centenary Collection. Model features rolling wheels, a display stand and is presented in WW1 themed box packaging
